Abstract

Surface photometry in the J, H, and K' bands for four inclined Sa-Sb galaxies is used to analyze the morphology and/or absorbing properties of several features located in the inner regions.

As part of a wider surface-photometry program on nearby galaxies (Hérau-deau, Simien and Mamon 1996), we have used the IRAC2-A camera attached to the 2.2-m ESO/MPI telescope to get J, H, and K' images on four spirals with a large angular diameter and a high inclination (>70 degrees). These data are completed by B and R images from the ESO-LV database (Lauberts and Valentijn 1989), for a wider frequency coverage. Here we present our preliminary analysis of dust lanes, dust patches, and other features appearing in the innermost regions.
